It may not be the official start of fall yet, but I consider it as having begun. Today I wore closed-toe shoes with socks, a long sleeved shirt, and a jacket. It was cool and damp outside, and even rained for a bit. I loved it.
I love having a “new” wardrobe to choose from. I love the cool air. I love how it expands my meal planning choices to include soups, congee, and stews. All of which my DD will actually eat! I’m looking forward to going apple picking, visiting pumpkin farms, and collecting leaves.
On the other hand, it means less outdoor activities. I’m going to have to be more creative about finding stuff for us to do. Staying home all day is suicide – my kids go crazy and I turn into a screaming harpy. I see more frequent visits to Science World in our future. They have a fully-gated area for young kids, and DS can roam to his heart’s content.
All in all, I’m excited that autumn has arrived!
